 Since 2022, when Shanghai ENP Industrial signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with DuPont, the two parties have embarked on a chapter of close collaboration. As DuPont's sole Level-1 distributor in China, Shanghai ENP Industrial has actively promoted the application and expansion of  DuPont products in the Chinese market. The two sides have joined hands in in-depth cooperation across multiple fields, achieving remarkable results.

Two distinguished guests from DuPont were specially invited to this Product Exchange Meeting: Ms. Yang Yeqi, Global Marketing and Business Development Manager, and Mr. Liu Yuan, China Technical Manager. Their extensive industry experience and professional knowledge laid a solid  foundation for the success of the forum. Mr. Chen Rongchun and Mr. Zhu Hu, Deputy General Managers of Shanghai ENP Industrial, Terry, Deputy General Manager of the Import and Export Department, as well as all staff of the Steel Department of Shanghai ENP Industrial gathered together to participate in the learning and exchange activities.

PVF VS PVDF   Which one has the edge?



At the outset of the forum, Ms. Yang Yeqi, from a macro market perspective, introduced the global application status and development trends of PVF and PVDF to all participants. Subsequently, Mr. Liu Yuan delved into the technical aspects and elaborated on the specific differences in performance between PVF and PVDF.

PVF Exhibits Excellent Chemical Inertness.

  • The planar zigzag conformation of the PVF molecular chain endows it with excellent chemical inertness.

  • When PVDF is immersed in acids, alkalis, and polar solvents for an extended period, it will exhibit significant swelling, deformation, and loss of mechanical properties, whereas PVF films can maintain dimensional and mechanical stability.

  • PVF demonstrated far superior acid and alkali resistance compared to PVDF coatings in immersion tests involving 10% HCl and 10% NaOH solutions.

  • The typical bidirectional elongation at break of Tedlar® films is greater than 100%, they can still maintain stable mechanical properties even after thermal cycling aging.

  • PVF boasts excellent flexural property and processability and can provide long-term protection for bent areas.

  • Tedlar® film-laminated steel sheets can meet the 0T bending requirement, effectively preventing salt spray and other corrosive substances from penetrating and attacking the steel substrate through cracks at the bent areas.

Employees from the Steel Division, based on their own work experience, conducted in-depth and enthusiastic discussions on the processes, effects, and other aspects of PVF and PVDF applications in steel-related product coatings. Zhong Yueying shared: "The content of this DuPont PVF material training is in-depth and solid, enabling us to systematically learn about PVF's chemical structure, physicochemical properties, and core advantages. DuPont's rigorous control over technical details and sharing of innovative solutions have greatly broadened my horizons in material applications. In the future, I will also actively apply the knowledge gained to facilitate product implementation."


PART 03

High-end products take the lead in the market


During the presentation, Manager Liu Yuan also combined DuPont's products with market cases to vividly illustrate the advantages of different performance characteristics in practical applications, with special mention of PVF film-laminated steel and baked-enamel steel sheets. To meet the demand for high-end building materials among more new and existing customers, Yieh Phui (China), DuPont and Shanghai ENP Industrial have jointly developed the "Hengcai" series, which comprises PVF film-laminated steel sheets and baked-enamel steel sheets—marking a new milestone in the development of Tedlar® PVF as a surface protection expert.

UV-resistant and anti-aging

PVF film-laminated steel sheets and baked-enamel steel sheets boast excellent UV resistance and anti-aging properties, and their coating surfaces will not experience chalking, fading, or other such phenomena even after long-term exposure to wind and rain.

Chemical corrosion-resistant

PVF film-laminated steel sheets and baked-enamel steel sheets can resist erosion by various acids, alkalis, salt sprays and polar solvents, thereby protecting the substrate from the impact of corrosive service environments.

Excellent flexural performance

PVF film-laminated steel sheets and baked-enamel steel sheets can achieve 0T flexural performance, which ensures that no cracks will appear even when they are subjected to folding processing and that they can provide reliable and long-lasting protection for the bent parts of the metal sheets.

Excellent cleanability

PVF film-laminated steel sheets and baked-enamel steel sheets are easy to clean and resistant to all types of dust and dirt. They also exhibit chemical inertness, allowing cleaning with a wide range of detergents and thus reducing maintenance costs.


This exchange meeting has equipped the employees with a clearer, more comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of PVF and PVDF. All participants expressed that this training has greatly enriched their knowledge reserves, laying a solid foundation for the more accurate selection and application of DuPont products in future work. Zhang Wei shared, "After participating in the DuPont PVF Product Exchange Meeting, I have gained a deeper understanding of the weather resistance, chemical resistance, and long-term reliability of PVF materials, and realized that DuPont products hold enormous application potential in the power, petrochemical, and high-end construction sectors. In the future, we can strengthen product awareness through cooperation with design institutes, general contractors and end customers. Meanwhile, by leveraging project-based promotion, we will accurately explore segmented markets and drive the implementation of practical applications.
